6 weeks
HELLO
So this is it.
6 weeks,
only 6.
I really can’t believe it.
These are about to be the best 6 weeks though
because I’m going to give it alllll my heart.
This was a great last week of the transfer.
We finished strong.
Basically we worked as hard as we could and the Lord poured out miracles.
I feel blessed to be a witness of so many miracles every day.
The biggest and bestest miracles was that J. WAS BAPTIZED WOOOOOO
He was an investigator we were teaching for a while but just wouldn’t come to church
no matter how many times he told us he would come, he just never made it
and then suddenly he came to church
and stayed all three hours
and wanted to be baptized,
but REALLY wanted it
and then he came again
and again
and last night he was baptized.
It was a very simple but special service.
His testimony was perfect
and he even finished in the name of Jesus Christ
which is really a miracle in and of itself.
He has come so far.
He’s basically the last person I would have expected to see in the font 16 months ago.
He’s got a tear drop tattoo and his name on his knuckles,
but the Atonement really can heal us all
physically and spiritually
and it is for all of us
each
and
every
one.
P. came to church again.
I really can’t believe how far he’s come.
These past two weeks he’s become buddy with J.
They have similar stories;
overcoming addictions,
single fathers,
lost in the world,
but finding peace in the Atonement and gospel
and changing their lives through tiny steps of faith.
Yesterday was my last Sunday in La Punta.
I didn’t spend much time there,
but I feel grateful for the people I met there,
each of them.
P. thanked us
choking back tears.
It really was a precious moment
:)
You wouldn’t believe he was the same person I met 6 weeks ago.
S. finally came to church yesterday
and even though she slept through sacrament meeting,
she enjoyed it and participated in the other classes
and the members were so friendly and welcoming.
It was another miracle.
M. came and brought her sister.
M. is fantastic.
I am so proud of her.
She really strives to live what we teach her
and she has so many simple spiritual experiences.
She recognizes the Spirit so easily.
Another miracle.
This week I have learned how the Atonement can really change us.
It amazes me to see how the gospel can bring peace to all, no matter how shattered the life may be.
I testify that we can each increase our faith with small steps.
Each step begins with a decision
no matter how far we feel we are from the Lord and his standards.
I know that as we walk in his footsteps we will find that he is much closer than we ever imagined.
HE LIVES. HE LOVES US. I WILL TESTIFY OF HIS NAME EVERY DAY OF MY LIFE. JESUS IS THE CHRIST, SAVIOR AND REDEEMER OF THE WORLD. I
I invite you each to search and find what that means for YOU.
I love you all.
Thanks for your support and prayers,
