Hello familia

I am very happy to be with Hermana Vidarte.

I’m pretty sure I have a record number of companions. (9 in the last 8 cambios)

But I am very grateful for each one of them.

Experiences of the week:

There’s something interesting about sitting on a street corner with a 15 year old girl reading the Living Christ and pausing between gunshots and sirens...

My companion and I have set the goal to testify more of Christ. It really has changed the way we teach and the way we feel as we teach. He truly is the center of all we do. His gospel is the light that shines in the darkness of our lives.

Ever heard of Callao? If not, don’t look it up. We went there. We had divisions with Hermana Correa and her companion. I miss her.

Miss our dear pensionista L. Our pensionista here in Boliar made caucau [traditional stew made with tripe or other meat] the kind with mondongo [diced tripe]. my not so favorite thing. I had really come to love Peruvian food while in Rimac, now I’m not so sure...

No it’s still good.

We were knocking doors and this little boy answered and asked what we wanted. so we started introducing ourselves "somos misioneras..." [we are missionaries…] and his eyes got all big "prisioneras!?[prisoners]"

Haha. Not quite.

We had a leadership training.

Basically I just need to start all over again.

Sorry I’m extending my mission 18 months more.

We had a cool experience where we looked for a contact.

Someone opened the door all surprised and let us in.

Turned out to be the sister of the investigator.

and we found a whole load of chaos.

Someone getting their hair done, children running and screaming and everything that could possibly be happening in one room.

I was extremely stressed.

Turns out her sister is a member but didn’t say anything when she opened the door.

She committed to bringing her sister to church this Sunday.

She lives in a different mission.

On Sunday the sister bore her testimony and explained how she had been praying to know how to share the gospel with her sister and everything

and just in that moment we knocked on the door.

It was a really cool experience. :) God really does hear and answer our prayers.

Strengthened my testimony.

And I almost cried.

Just what I needed

We also had interviews with President.

And great end to a good week.:)

Things are going well here in lovely Lima

Love you all

Hermana Anderson
