This week is gonna be a little short. Sorry, it happens.
MONDAY: A shock. We did some shopping, just passing the p-day oblivious of anything that was coming. As we headed out to do cleaning checks we got a phone call from our district leader that Hermana Cachari had a transfer.

I thought it was a joke. I was so certain we were going to stay together. She headed back to the sector where she started her mission. I was not prepared.
TUESDAY: More cleaning checks. Went to pick up Hermana Correa (1 year in the mission from Columbia).

They opened a new sector for hermanas in Rimac so now there’s four of us which is all fine and dandy, except that we live under one roof with one shower.
Had a lesson with R and M.
Had our first English class. It was pretty good.
WEDNESDAY: Had a lesson with MA. She’s great. Very curious. She wants to know.
Visited A. He is doing so much better. Miracles folks. He even went to the temple on Thursday. He called us after and was so pleased. He told us he was in love with the temple and wants to design his house the same because he felt such a peace there. It was great.
We had a scripture class, J and R came. They are great. He is in the process of divorcing so they can get married, but they’re the strongest non-member members.
THURSDAY: Leadership council. I left the meeting with a lot of goals. The mission is a one of a kind experience. Unfortunately, at times it requires long bus rides in Lima traffic. Remind me never to live in a city.
FRIDAY: Had a lesson with MA and D. It was great. I felt a little hesitant. Sometimes it’s hard to know what to expect. We talked about the Book of Mormon and baptism. D. brought up marriage (he knows a little about the church) and wanted to know if they could be married in the temple and if their kids could come. Well I guess if you really want. It was really great. They were both intrigued with every word that came out of our mouths. My favorite part was at the end when MA prayed so simply, yet so beautifully, “Thank you for The Book of Mormon.” I love investigators prayers.
We had a small noche de hogar with converts and investigators. It was just this perfect little moment. We were all huddled outside in the “cold” and night, digging a tiny hole in the ground with a broom stick to bury our paper swords in the ground, with these people I love. Something that seems so silly but for them was so profound. Made my heart dance.
SATURDAY: We had been trying to visit with a contact for a few weeks, but she had never let us in and I was getting tired of walking and decided we would give it one last shot. So she started with the whole I’m busy this and that. And I’m just like look give us 15 minutes. She looked at her house, then at us, then back at her house and finally said okay. “15 minutes.” So we sit down and start talking like usual and then she starts talking. Then starts opening her heart and 15 minutes quickly turned into 1 hour and a baptismal date. In no other situation.
We finally found L. Turns out the reason she didn’t want to be baptized Saturday was that her son wasn’t going to be there and she had a meeting at that time, etc. She thought that was the only time she could do it. So we ironed out the wrinkles and she’s good to go. :)
But the best part of the day was lunch or dessert rather (not really sure you could call it that). Cinnamon mucus. Mmmm.
SUNDAY: Elections Round 2. We could only go to set appointments and if they fell we had to go home. Of our 6 appointments guess how many fell through? That’s right, 6.
Also we weren’t allowed to contact. I swear the one day we can’t contact everyone greeted us in the streets. I was like twitching in the streets because I couldn’t talk to them.
We listened to General Conference talks. Still waiting for the May Liahona.
That’s about it.
This week has been good. A lot of administrative things going on. This week will be even better. Why? Because Elder Rasband is coming! Pumped. I’ll let you know how it goes.
Love ya lots.
Love,
Hermana Anderson
