HOLA

MONDAY: Didn’t do much. Had a noche de hogar.

TUESDAY: Interviews with President. Just what I needed. Nice sometimes to know that your efforts are appreciated :) My favorite part of the day however was a lesson with this elderly woman who was telling us about how lonely she is and how no one visits her and how she’s sick and all she wants is to be healthy. Hna Yegros had the member who was with is read 1 Nephi 17:20. She soon realized that was not the verse she wanted… Read it and tell me if you think it’s as funny as I do. I’m still laughing :)

WEDNESDAY: Interviews pt.2 Then we had to head to the mission offices again for about the 40th time this week. Might as well just set up my own desk in there with all the time I’ve spent there this cambio.

We then headed out on a field trip with the zone leaders to the clinic to do a spit test. But when we got there it was closed. Wonderful adventure nonetheless. A lesson with A. Por fin. Can’t remember what happened between then and choir practice.

THURSDAY: We had to go back to the clinic in the morning and spent four and a half hours there. We all had to get chest x-rays. Good news, turns out I don’t have tuberculosis.

We did have this really cool lesson with this former investigator we found. We talked about the Atonement and it was just great. Then we met up with the hermanas to do some quick divisions. First of all, I don’t know how I would have survived this last cambio without Hermana Bird. Honestly. So Hermana Bird, Hna Owen and I went to find the Hills. They’re the brand new senior missionary couple we have that live/work in our sector. So we have to show them around a bit. So we took them to this training we had to go to.

Which brings me to the next part if the day, Family History Training meeting. The mission is starting a great new family history initiative to help with retention and while there I got to see many faces I love and miss, Hermana Sanchez, Hermana Scarlett, the list goes on.

Oh. My favorite part of the clinic this morning was that it seemed right out of a 1950’s was scene. I expected it all to be in black and white. Sketch. If I didn’t have tuberculosis when I entered, I sure as heck had it when I left.

FRIDAY: We had our monthly contacting activity. I love it except I burned like crazy.

We contacted this one guy who turned out to be a member and he actually has a reference for us who happened to be his girlfriend. He said, “Yeah, so visit her, teach her, baptize her and in one year I’ll marry her.” There you go.

Other things happened as well.

SATURDAY: Lesson with A. Helping him go to the temple. Lunch with familia Melendez. Good people. Lesson with M. He has read like half the Book of Mormon, True to the Faith and who knows what else.

SUNDAY: Elections. We weren’t allowed to proselytize. We could leave only if we had a set cita ad knew for certain they would be there. We didn’t have church nor noth’. We did go to the Hill’s for lunch. That was nice. They are good people. It’s nice to see how excited they are to be here. And for some reason I feel like I know them. Good people.

All in all this week has been interesting. I kinda just feel like the body of Hermana Anderson going around. These past few weeks have been pretty hard on me but I’ve really learned a lot about myself and my Savior. And it’s interesting how every period of my mission has had its own challenge. Each one working on smoothing out all the rough edges, one by one. Painful and beautiful.

I can honestly say I am not the same person I was 9 months ago.

But always feel overly blessed for the amazing friends and family.

I love you and miss you.

Love,

Hermana Anderson
