Alooooo

MONDAY: We went to Larci Mar this beach side mall in Santa Cruz all just for a quesadilla at TGIFridays, but I got to see Hna Steward so that was just peachy.

Had a Noche de Hogar with an Hermana in the ward and her daughter and her friend in which Hna Owen and I learned to dance the Marinera (some typical Peruvian dance) i.e. we made a fool out of ourselves. But hey, it’s for the children.

TUESDAY: A very strange day. Where to begin? We went looking for this contact in the morning. We had an appointment with her and so we passed by her house. Turns out it was a rest home (she lived above not in it), but she wasn’t home. They, however, invited us in to talk to the residents. It was a little uncomfortable, but hey, we at least brightened someone’s day.

Then we had a strange lunch. Which afterwards we had a second larger one. It was about 5 courses and every time I thought I was going to die. My jaw literally hurt from chewing so much. But this woman was so old and so happy that we were joining her for lunch. But, man was it rough. The food was practically in my brain. I left there with such a headache. Okay enough about food. Y’all are tired of hearing the same story every week I know.

Then we had a lesson with P. which was super frustrating. She likes going to church and everything but she just doesn’t comprehend it and I can’t figure out why. Ergh. Don’t know what to do.

WEDNESDAY: Multizonas. It was a good one, learned a lot, left wanting to be better. How it should be. But it just helped me realize once again, how blessed I am to be here. What an incredible blessing it is to be a missionary. It’s the best. I love it. :)

Afterwards we had a lesson with F. which went well. Hna Owen was speaking more so I was just proud as can be and F. always just makes me feel good. It’s always funny when people tell us that we “bring such a spirit” with us or whatever cause I just feel like little ol’ me. Well not really but that’s a different story entirely.

And our gift of the week was a big thing of crackers. Thanks F.

THURSDAY: Had a really great lesson with E. She is so prepared. She’s just great. I’m already planning my trip back to Peru for her sealing (even though she’s not yet baptized).

P. Yeah. She’s going on vacation apparently. Our lesson was in darkness. That was strange.

Finished our day with Hna V. who will forever have a special place in my heart and always reminds me how we are sent for the one. She basically poured her heart out to us. She’s got a lot of struggles, but such a strong testimony. I learn more from her than she does from me.

FRIDAY: A crazy day. It started off normal but ended up in the emergency room.

Basically Hna Owen picked up some strange stomach bug and ended up throwing up 21 times in the space of 3 hours. Once on the side of the road, you know in Pitch Perfect? Yeah it was kinda like that, projectile and everything. No question about what we ate for lunch. Once in her bed which meant I got to put all my motherly skills to work hand washing vomit out of her clothes and bed sheets. In a sink of course.

Then I got to translate for her in the emergency room and just watch her for hours until they finally let us go. It was all quite the adventure and quite stressful for me.

SATURDAY: Hna Owen still wasn’t feeling well so we were trapped inside all day. Not very pleasant. I don’t know what I ever did with my life before. I can’t sit still for so long. But Hna Watts and Bird

did come over for a bit and made us lunch and I got to go out with Hna Watts for a bit which was a whole nother (is that even a word?) experience. We went to do some contacting and we headed for this old woman to learn that she only had one eye which definitely took me by surprise at first. We soon realized that she was completely lost and decided to try and help this old woman home which seemed easier in my head. But so there we were – Hna Watts on one side holding her arm. Me holding her hand on the other, guiding this one eyed lady through Lima. Long story short we were able to solve the puzzle and get her safely home and they were so grateful. Who knows, maybe one day they’ll even get baptized. But yeah. That was Saturday.

SUNDAY: Hna Owen was still sick. So that’s most of Sunday.

This week was good. Ended a little rough for Hna Owen but things are good. I’m stressed and happy. What more could I ask for?

The church is true.

The book is blue.

and I love you

Love,

Hermana Anderson

“Behold I am a disciple of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. I have been called of him to declare his word among this people that they might have eternal life.” 3 Nephi 3:13 #ponderize

And what a blessing it is to be called of HIM to declare HIS word among HIS people and be HIS disciple.
