HBD MOM

MONDAY: Went shopping with the other hermanas in our ward whom I had told about the soap F. gave me. I told them I couldn’t use it though because it was a gift. So what did they give me all wrapped up nice and pretty? Another bar of soap. And as Hermana Sanchez was packing she found a bar of grape soap that she thought I needed.

We had a Noche de Hogar with a hermana in the ward. We had avepas, a Columbian food – dang good. And as we were leaving, you’ll never believe what she gave us, a bar of soap, which makes three bars of soap in one day. I’m not sure how I got so lucky, but it looks like I’m going to have a collection of it. Cleanliness is next to godliness.

And I also found out that I’d be training. I knew it was coming for me, but I thought I’d have another cambio to prepare myself.

TUESDAY: I got my new companion! I was very shocked to find out that she was a North American as well, Hermana Owen from Washington. She’s great!

Our first day was a little long, we didn’t have any appointments set and nobody was home and unfortunately I am directionally impaired. It reminded me a lot of my first day.

I am so excited though. I’ve been trying my hardest to remember and do and teach everything I can. I feel extremely unqualified for this, but it’s going to be great.

We did however have an interesting street contact. I asked a man what he knew about the church and he said, “You guys baptize in a pool of milk, right?” I was very taken off guard. We cleared that one up real quick.

WEDNESDAY: Pretty good day, busy and full, just how it should be. It turned out being pretty long by the time we got home. Man was I beat.

F. gave me another bar of soap.

THURSDAY: A really good day as well. Everything is a lot more exhausting when you have to think for two people.

We met a new investigator E. She is really great. She wants her family to listen as well. She said that we were testimony enough, that we were so sure and that we were so different in a happy way.

(Two birds pooped on me this week.)

We had this lesson with a 16 year old boy, J. He didn’t really want to meet with us but his grandpa kinda made him. It was an interesting lesson. He said he didn’t know if God really existed. We taught him about prayer because he had never prayed in his life. At the end we invited him to pray and he started going off on the whole next time, I don’t know how, etc. So we just sat there with our eyes closed and arms folded for 15 minutes until he finally uttered his first prayer. It was pretty cool.

Then we visited Hermana V. She’s a sweet woman. It’s crazy how you’re able to love strangers so fast. She’s having a hard time. It breaks my heart. She cries every time we visit her. Then she gave us marriage advice.

I walked into a door as I was getting ready for bed. I have a really big bump on my forehead. It hurts.

FRIDAY: A very long-short day. At lunch all of our citas fell through. But we were able to visit L. and P. which was great and P. accepted a fecha [date]! Woohoo! And even went to church on Sunday. Fue lo maximo! [It was the best!]

SATURDAY: An interesting day. All our citas fell through again. It’s so strange to be sharing a ward with Hna Roca. My worlds are colliding. And it’s just like woah. Six months ago… woah. This is her last cambio, crazy.

SUNDAY: P. and M. came to church. It was AWESOME. We were fed WAY too much at lunch. I’m still digesting. But they do it out of love. It’s crazy. I’ve never felt like such an idol before. Everyone’s like, “You guys bring such a spirit and such joy here. You can feel it.” And I’m like really? I feel the same. I think this is my favorite ward so far. They’re great.

This week has been full of a lot of little miracles. It’s been a really great week. I’m really happy to be training. It really pushes me to work even harder. It’s like I have a cita 24/7. It’s been a really good experience so far. And it’s been fun to kinda re-live all my firsts in the mission. It’s crazy looking back. All in all, I am happy.

If you’d like to be a part of my missionary work, feel free to pray for Hermanas P., M., L., and E. that they may have some great spiritual experiences this week J And all come to church next week! :) :)

I hope ya’ll had a fabulous week!

I miss ya. And love ya!

Until next week!

Love,

Hermana Anderson

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to the WORLD’S GREATEST MOM! I am who I am today because of her. Thanks Mom. I love you.

“Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” Hebrews 4:10 His grace will help is at all times. Trust in his enabling power! I love my Savior!
